Craft Interrupted (and forgotten)

Among the absurd thing about not getting crafts done, and forgetting about them is when you make plans to have something done, you often forget about it then, too.

So, Miyuki, with sincere apologies, I forgot to pass the tiles & canvas to you this weekend!

0 for 4

I know 4 people with birthdays in the Feb. 20-Feb. 25 date range. This year, I attempted to make cards for at least a couple of these people.

Today is the 26th. Sadly, neither card made it to completion. While the card on the left may look complete, there is still more to be done. I will finish these at some point. My sister's birthday in March? Maybe.

Projects completed to date: Zero

I did manage to build a skeleton model of a stegosaurus, but the past crafts posted are still waiting for activity.

I felt I should post before this drops to the bottom of my blog list (which is around 10 now).

Clubhouse DVD

We shot footage at the last Halloween party. I have yet to review this footage, let alone edit it.

Here are some empty DVD cases that represent the digital flunk out of my editing.

Yup, this speaks for itself. A neat project book. Never opened. Free to a good home.

So I was off by 10...

"What are you making?"
"It's going to be a bedspread."
"What?!  You're going to be working on that until doomsday."
"No way!  I'll have in done in a year, year and a half."
"Haha, yeah right!"
"You'll see!"

Ten plus years later, and still just 6 panels completed.  Probably one of my most ambitious crochet/knit/anything projects to date...and also my greatest failure.

Doilies, anyone?

This One Goes Out to the One I Love

All failed projects start with great intentions. This is one of them (or rather, two). I wanted to make giant wall hanging, magnetic Scrabble canvases. And in some crazy world, I'm not too far off. The canvases are painted with magnetic paint and then topped with acrylic paint. One got so far as to have an actual grid design on it. I kind of got frustrated because my measurements seemed to be a bit off (that's what happens when you use a classroom yard stick for minute measurements).

And what Scrabble board would be effective without tiles. Unsanded, unmarked, bowl of tiles.

Someday, I'll get around to sanding these each by hand. And then lettering them. And then putting rare earth magnets into them. And finish those canvases off. And then I'll have super sweet gifts for a couple people.
